As you would when trying on a regular bra

Consider the bra's construction. Stay away from cheap or novelty bras made from flimsy materials. If you need more support, look for strapless bras with wide bands and underwire.

Take your dress into account. If your dress has a low back or a plunging neckline, look for strapless bras that will accommodate it. Nobody should be able to see any part of your bra through your dress lingeries. If possible, bring your dress with you to try on bras.

Try them on. As you would when trying on a regular bra, lean over to make sure that your breasts fill the cups. Move around and jump up and down a bit to make sure that the bra offers enough support and stays in place as much as possible.

Wearing a bra that fits perfectly ensures a woman's comfort and proper support. Although bras are designed to fit women of many sizes, you can still have trouble finding the perfect fit as the band or the straps may be too small or large. With basic sewing skills, however, you can make some adjustments to your bra.

Insert the threaded needle on the inside of the bra at the seam edge of the hook and eye closure. Loop the thread over the top of the closure, and reinsert the needle in the same place, creating a looped stitch over the top of the bra. Repeat the loop stitch three times.

Sew a line parallel to the closure edge, 1/8 inch from the closure edge using small stitches. Make several more looped stitches at the other outer edge of the closure. Knot and cut the thread.

Insert the needle again on the inside of the bra 1/8 inch from the first stitch line on the closure. Make the looped stitches at the outer edge. Make another stitch line parallel to the first. Make additional looped stitches at the other end. Knot and cut the thread.
